Each year, the Hoosier Art Salon in New Harmony, Indiana, presents the Field to Finish Exhibition. This unique showcase features artwork stemming from the Salon's First Brush of Spring event. Artists who participated in the previous year's plein air painting event create "field studies," capturing scenes from the New Harmony area in any desired medium. These studies are submitted to the gallery for official Field to Finish (F2F) stamping, validating their status for the current and following year's exhibition. Artists then use their stamped studies as inspiration to develop a more refined "finish" piece over the course of a year.
