Figurative sculpture has been my focus of artistic expression since 1990. My formal studies of the figure began with figure drawing at Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and then figurative sculpting at Brigham Young University-Hawaii. There I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2002. I then received the best figurative training possible at the New York Academy of Art where I earned my Master of Fine Arts in 2004. There in Manhattan, in the heart of the art world, I received a direct lineage of techniques handed down from the great masters of old while sharing a personal dialogue with the most forward thinking renowned figurative artists of the time.

As a full-time college professor since 2006, I have been able to pursue my goal of learning and developing as I teach figure modeling, the principles of design and creative thinking. Currently I teach at Indiana University-Indianapolis and previously at the Art Institute of Indianapolis. While teaching, I've been able to procure commissions from various clients as well as execute personal expressions in sculpture that have been exhibited all over the country. In 2022 I was elected by my peers to be an elected member of the National Sculpture Society an organization that dates to 1893. Since then, I have been appointed by the President of the society to be the Ambassador for the Midwest. Every day I love balancing my teaching and studio work with my family life. I am grateful for studio work and love my job teaching and look forward to going into class in the mornings. My faith, family, and desire to serve are my purpose that fuels my drive!

In 2004 and 2005 I won 1st Place Sculpture Awards two years in a row at the 80th & 81st Annual Hoosier Salon.
