Mark Burkett is a painter and printmaker. He was encouraged in his interest in art from a young age by his family and teachers. He spent his childhood in Monrovia, Indiana and attended Indiana State University where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and specialized in printmaking.

Besides private collections his work can be found in the Indiana State Museum, Swope Art Museum (Terre Haute, IN), Richmond Art Museum (Richmond, IN), Columbia Club of Indianapolis, and the National Park Service.  He is a member of the Brown County Art Guild, Hoosier Art Salon, and Indiana Artists Club.
