Mark was a career English teacher and school administrator who found his “labor of love”
In artistic expression near the end of his first career.  Full of stories from his education days, he sees painting as another way to tell visual stories.  Primarily self-taught, Mark was a collector first, and then began attending painting classes and workshops at Southside Art League.  An avid plein air painter and art collector, he knows the landscapes he likes to paint. He typically paints water scenes, vistas, buildings and architecture for his subject matter.  Mark is known for his bright pastels and “colorist” atmospheric renderings.   His 
landscapes are painted with a peaceful sentiment, hoping the viewer might feel like they could walk into the setting.  Mark enjoys sharing his work in gallery shows and competitions, attending plein air events and serving as an active board member in various art organizations (Southside Art League, Indiana Plein Air Painters Association).  He is a member of the Brown County Art Guild where his work is represented in seasonal rotations.  His website is:  https://markamillis.com
