Mary Mindiola, Indianapolis, IN
Magazine Paper - No Paint
Framed: 32" x 17"
Originally from Venezuela, Mary studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI. Mary started using magazine cut outs in her works after a Caribbean vacation trip made her very aware of the big pollution problem the world is facing.
After a lot of consideration she decided to completely eliminated all paint from her works and only uses recycled available materials like magazines, junk mail and gift wrap paper. This technique also fits in well with Mary’s big interest into recycled art, conservation and the big impact of humans in nature. Mary currently has her studio at the Harrison Art Center in Indy and she constantly exhibits in different venues and museums around the city of Indianapolis.
